Founded in late 2015, PowerIn Energy Corporation is developing the capability to supply onsite power and heat to the natural gas midstream industry.
Our business model is intended to create value from clean burning natural gas power plants that operate where both power and heat are consumed. Onsite generation of this energy eliminates primary dependency on long distance power lines for industrial power.
Our uniquely cost effective approach significantly improves reliability and quality of heat and power, while also maintaining site air emissions below state and federally mandated levels.
PowerIn, LLC was originally formed to pursue subsurface heating opportunities within Canada’s extra heavy oil industry utilizing superconducting cable technology developed at the University of Houston.
Following the collapse of oil pricing in late 2015, the company retreated back to its home state, where the company’s founder performed an in-depth analysis of issues related to the Texas electric power grid. Specifically, on how safe and efficient onsite generation could potentially improve the reliability, resiliency and quality of both process heat and electricity without negatively impacting the environment.
As the result of this multi-year, self-funded effort, PowerIn developed proprietary economic and technical models to perform site specific project feasibility studies. This valuable understanding is attracting various participants within the oil and gas midstream industry for project based assessment of the economic and technical feasibility of deploying onsite combined heat and power projects potentially located at natural gas processing plants within North America.
