T.J. Wainerdi

With over 30 years of experience in the development and commercialization of energy related technologies, Mr. Wainerdi has demonstrated the ability to rapidly bring disruptive technologies out of the lab and into the commercial marketplace.
Mr. Wainerdi has worked closely with Nobel Prize and National Academy award winners, leading the successful transfer of game changing technology into real world energy applications.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University and spent the first 19 years of his career in both technical and commercial leadership roles at the Dow Chemical Company.
Prior to becoming a full time employee of PowerIn Energy Corporation, Mr. Wainerdi led the design and construction of multi-million dollar pilot facilities located at University of Houston’s Energy Research Park, while serving as University of Houston’s Energy Research Business Director for superconducting and semiconducting research programs.
Additionally, Mr. Wainerdi led cross-functional teams representing industry, academia and National laboratories in multi-million dollar, multi-year projects sponsored by the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA-e) of the Department of Energy, successfully creating the world’s highest performing superconducting wire technology while also directing associated market and business development activities.
Mr. Wainerdi was a member of the Board of Directors for the Research Partnership to Secure Energy for America (RPSEA), serving for six years on the Board’s Executive Committee and chaired the Board’s Alternative Business Models Subcommittee. At the time of his participation RPSEA was a 100+ member consortium of petroleum companies and academic research institutions that managed a $250 million technology development project portfolio.
